The beginning: Worshiping as one

Our story began with a powerful vision: two churches coming together to worship God as one. It was during the American Baptist Churches Conference that First Baptist Moderator, Michael Huddy met Linda Febles of Maplewood Baptist Church. This initial step of unity laid the foundation for Malden Community Church, creating a welcoming space where diverse voices blended in praise. It was a moment of spiritual convergence, igniting a flame that continues to burn brightly today. On November 20th, 2022, First Baptist Malden and Maplewood Baptist came together in joint worship with Rev. Gary McClenthen, Pastor of Maplewood Baptist preaching.
